Hearing and Speech Center of Northern California counselors have the training and experience to understand you, your personal situation, and your experience with hearing loss. They can help you find strategies that work for you.
Hearing and Speech Center of Northern California Individual and Family Program Offers:
- Initial Assessment to determine your concerns and goals
- Up to ten counseling sessions, which might include
- Meetings with family members or close associates
- Appointments at the Hearing and Speech Center of Northern Californiaoffice or other locations
- Follow-up plan – referrals and check-in schedule
Counselors:
Barbara Bell, LCSW, was born hard of hearing and then gradually became profoundly deaf. She utilizes hearing aids and speech reading to communicate and is also fluent in signed English and American Sign Language. She has 25 years of experience working with hard-of-hearing and deaf people of all ages.
Laura Clark, MS, CRC, is a registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern, with additional specialties in gerontology, rehabilitation counseling, and deafness/hearing loss. She also specializes in assistive listening technology.
Danielle Monastersky, MS, is a Bi-lingual Educational Counselor. Her background is in Educational Psychology and Recreation Therapy and works within both the Counseling Department and the Partners in Communication Youth Program.
Fees:
Sliding scale—depends upon income and family needs.
Services are available at no cost or low cost, for low income San Francisco residents.
