Costs of hearing aids offered at the Center vary tremendously depending upon the style of the instrument and the technology of the circuitry inside (analog, programmable, digital, etc.). Audiologists at the Center help patients narrow the choices of hearing aids by taking into account information such as the audiogram, manual dexterity, and personal needs and preference.

To be considered for a hearing aid, patients must either complete a diagnostic hearing test at the time of the appointment or bring a record of a hearing test conducted within the six prior months.

Charges for diagnostic hearing testing are frequently covered by health insurance. The Center is a provider for most health insurance companies. Pending prior approval, occasionally, hearing aids are covered by health insurance. The Center also accepts MediCal and CCS payments for hearing aids and related products, provided the patient is eligible for these services.

A sliding fee scale is also available for audiologic testing for qualified individuals but sliding fees cannot be applied to hearing aids, assistive listening devices, batteries, and other hearing aid related products.
