Dr. Shannon Nichols joined the Hearing and Speech Center after spending the final year of her doctorate completing training as a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Audiology fellow at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. She received her bachelor’s degree in communication science and disorders with a minor in psychology from Florida State University and went on to receive her Doctorate of Audiology from The University of Texas – Austin. Dr. Nichols specializes in pediatric diagnostics and amplification, newborn hearing screenings, neurodevelopmental disabilities and community outreach. She also has experience with cochlear implants and aural rehabilitation. Dr. Nichols is a licensed California audiologist, fellow member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology.
